100 Mile Information 

Saturday, October 26th, 2024 | Start Time: 6:30 PM

 

The Mountainback 100 is making its highly anticipated debut this year, offering runners an unparalleled test of endurance and grit. The course consists of two loops of our renowned 50-mile course, weaving through the rugged beauty of Rothrock State Forest. Starting at 6:30 PM on Saturday, October 26th, runners will face the added challenge of night running, with their headlamps and willpower to guide them through the darkness.

 

Course Overview:

This 100-mile race features approximately a total of 10,600 feet over the 100 miles. Runners will tackle gravel service roads, steep climbs, rolling descents, and scenic flat sections as they make their way through the dense forests and ridges of central Pennsylvania. The course provides a true test of both physical and mental endurance.

 

Cut-Off Time:

Runners must complete the race within 28 hours, with the race concluding at 10:30 PM on Sunday, October 27th. Those who conquer the course within this time will earn the coveted Mountainback 100-Mile finisher title and belt buckle.

Aid Station Information:

To support you during this epic journey, aid stations will be strategically placed along the course to provide hydration, nutrition, and crew support.

  • During the night (Saturday 6:30 PM to Sunday 6:00 AM):
    Aid stations 3, 5, 9, 10, and 12 will be fully stocked with food, drinks, and other supplies. Aid stations 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 11 will function as water stops, providing hydration only.
    However, all aid stations—whether fully stocked or water stops—are accessible for crew support, so your team can assist you at any point along the course.

  • During the day (Sunday 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM):
    From sunrise to the race's completion, all aid stations will be fully staffed and fully stocked. Every aid station will offer hydration, food, and minor medical assistance, with crew access available at each location to provide additional support as you tackle the final stretch of your 100-mile journey.
